King's Lynn man back in court after failing to start unpaid work community order
A North Lynn resident who has ticked off none of a sentence of 130 hours’ unpaid work has been back before the court.
Markas Jasinas was given 80 hours for an assault and then a further 50 hours for breaching the community order.
An arrest warrant for the 21-year-old was issued after he failed to appear for a previous hearing.
Jasinas surrendered to it at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday after hearing about the warrant from bailiffs.
He admitted failing to report to probation on May 29 and June 5 without reasonable excuse.
Solicitor Andrew Cogan said: “The mitigation is a curious egg – it’s good in parts, unpalatable in others.
“He’s got 130 hours. How many hours has he got left? 130.
“That is not going to endear him to the court.
“When I spoke to him about that he’s got some reasonable excuses. If he had told Probation they may have looked at it more compassionately.
“He knows that he has to do this order.”
Jasinas, of Anderson Close, was given another 12-month community order with 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
He was also ordered to pay £75 costs.
