Man charged after armed police called to Fakenham incident

A man has been charged in connection with an incident in Fakenham last week to which armed police had to be called.

Officers were called to Greenway Lane in the town on Thursday night following reports that a man had been making threats. No people or weapons were found.

However, this morning, a post on the North Norfolk Police Twitter feed said a 33-year-old man had been charged with a public order offence over the incident.

The man, who has not been named, is due to appear before magistrates on August 6.
