KIng’s Lynn man fined after drunken dispute on Norfolk Street
A man has been handed a fine after refusing to move on from a drunken argument in Lynn town centre.
Liam Greenacre, 27, of Lady Jane Grey Road in Lynn, appeared at the town’s magistrates’ court on Thursday.
He pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place on April 30.
Crown prosecutor Nicola Lamb said that at around 2am on that date, police on patrol on Norfolk Street in Lynn observed a “dispute” between Greenacre and one other man.
They felt he was acting in an “aggressive manner” – with his eyes reported to be glazed – and they tried to move him on.
However, Ms Lamb said that Greenacre ignored the request. He was told that if he did not comply he would be arrested, and he subsequently was.
Greenacre, who appeared in court unrepresented, was fined £40 for his offence.
He was also told to pay £50 in legal costs and a £16 victim surcharge.
