Man in his 70s dies after getting into difficulty in water at Brancaster beach




A man in his 70s who was reported missing has died after getting into difficulty in the sea over the weekend.

Police were called by the Coastguard to Brancaster beach following reports of a missing person at about 1.56pm on Saturday.

A person had been seen entering the water at 1.20pm, but he did not return.

A search was carried out by police and the Coastguard - with the man found at about 3.15pm.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
