A West Norfolk man has made a first appearance in court over serious sexual offences against a child.

James Landin, 27, was before Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with a string of matters involving a 14-year-old girl.

He is accused of three sexual activity offences involving penetration and blackmailing her.

These indictable only matters were sent to Norwich Crown Court for a hearing on November 25.

Five other charges including grooming her, causing her to look at an image of Landin engaging in sexual activity and distribution of indecent photographs of her will accompany the more serious matters.

The offences are said to have occurred between 2015 and 2019.

Landin, of Civray Avenue, Downham, did not give any indication of pleas.

He was granted unconditional bail to the next hearing date.
