Man in court on attempted GBH charge over King’s Lynn crash

A 29-year-old man has appeared in court today charged in connection with a collision in North Lynn in which a 16-year-old cyclist was injured.

Johnny Cunningham, of Hillen Road, South Lynn, appeared before Lynn magistrates via video link to face an allegation of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm. He has been remanded in custody until June 18.

Police say their investigation into the incident, which happened in Estuary Close, at around 1.30pm on Tuesday, is continuing.

A Vauxhall Astra was in collision with a 16-year-old boy, who was riding a bike near the St Edmundsbury Road junction.

The boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, but is expected to make a full recovery.

A 21-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail until July 27, while inquiries continue.
