Teenage boy taken to King’s Lynn hospital after being hit by car on Church Road in Downham Market
A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Downham this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Church Road at around 1.52pm after reports of a crash involving a cyclist and a car.
A East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.40pm with reports that a teenage boy had been hit by a car on Church Road in Downham.
“An ambulance, an ambulance officer vehicle and a response car from the Norfolk Accident Rescue Service were sent to the scene.
“The patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
A police spokeswoman said a man, who was on a bicycle at the time, had been taken to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
She added that the nature of his injuries were not yet known.
The road was closed in both directions following the collision, and part of it remained shut, with police still on the scene, as of 4.15pm.
