LEARN MOREEric Rhodes, who lives in Heacham, is walking the Norfolk Coastal Path in memory of his wife, Penny.
The fundraising walk will help towards the Norfolk Hospice Tapping House, which provides care, comfort and compassion to those nearing the end of their lives.
Eric's Penny for your Thoughts Walk page on Just Giving has already seen donations of £465.
Mr Rhodes, 74, said: "Penny and I were together for 50 years and many people were used to seeing us walking together hand in hand.
"A vicious brain tumour caused that to come to a sudden stop at the end of last year. We remained together in our own home with the invaluable help of The Norfolk Hospice at Home team who provided care in every sense of the word and were with us every step of the way.
"I plan to walk the Norfolk Coastal Path from Cromer to our Heacham home on March 1 in Penny's memory and ensure the hospice work will continue.
"We were both born in 1947 and the walk is 47 miles.
"I will book a bed and breakfast part way and will probably take about three days to do it.
"It will get my legs working again and people have been very generous. The hospice to a wonderful job and any small amount of funding will help."
Messages on the Just Giving page include: "A great cause and in memory of a truly wonderful woman."
