Marshland pupils face maths and swim challenges

Children from Anthony Curton and Tilney All Saints Primary schools entered the cluster swimming gala and maths challenges before the half-term break.

The gala was held on May 19 at the Hudson Pool and the teams consisted of: Alisha Goult, Lily Jermy, Ellie Jackson, Lily Readshaw, HarveyTaylor, Oliver Swann, Nicholas Hedges and Ollie Archer-Humphreys (Anthony Curton) Holly Barber, Elsie-May, Molly Chase, Ollie Collison, Will Parsons and Cory Chilvers (Tilney All Saints).

The schools then went on to have a very successful evening at the Marshland Cluster Maths Challenge event held on May 22. Eight schools took part in the competition in which teams of four children, consisting of pupils from Years 4 and 5, competed to be Cluster champions. After eight tough rounds and a closely fought battle the Anthony Curton Primary School team emerged victorious with their partner school of Tilney All Saints coming third place. Anne Senior, headteacher of both schools said: “I am extremely proud of both teams, who competed against each other but as always, supported each other, too.” The picture above shows the two teams who took part in the Maths Challenge; the winners from Anthony Curton (back row, left to right) Harvey Walters, Louie Cotrill, Henry Ward and Harvey Scott and (front row, left to right) the Tilney All Saints team, Elsie-May Whitby, Shane Rothwell and Charly Spurge.
