Double celebrations for staff achievements at Hickathrift House in Marshland St James




Hickathrift House in Marshland St James is celebrating the achievements of two team members.

Paula Colman has been crowned memory lane champion for the central division in the Barchester Care Awards 2018 and is through to the national finals plus newly-appointed general manager, Ceri Mills has won the division title of apprentice/learner of the year.

The awards celebrate staff and volunteers who go the extra mile for the benefit of individuals living in Barchester care homes. Categories range from registered nurse of the yea’ andcarer of the year to maintenance champion and team of the year.

Ceri said: "I am excited to receive this award. I am so lucky to be supported by a fantastic team and I feel honoured. I am very passionate about my role and Hickathrift House and I can’t wait until the National Awards to see if Hickathrift comse home with national titles."

As the winner’s for central region, Ceri and Paula are automatically through to the national Barchester Care Awards finals. They will soon have an interview with the judges and will then join finalists from across the UK at a special awards luncheon in October to celebrate their achievements and discover if they have won national award’s.

Regional director, Ioana Pop, said: “This is an amazing achievement. Ceri and Paula are both so dedicated and fully committed to the home. It is a great achievement for them both to have been recognised as divisional winners and we are all fully supporting them with the next stage of the company wide awards.,”

Hickathrift House provides residential care and dementia care for 52 residents from respite care to long term stays.
