The Mayor of Hunstanton led the way as fundraisers braved the freezing waters to take part in the resort’s annual Christmas Day swim.
Carol Bower brought the civic chains along to the traditional festive event, where she judged the fancy dress costumes donned by many of the participants, before taking to the water herself.
Hundreds of people took part in the swim, which is organised by the town’s Round Table and was first held in 1959.
Last year’s event raised around £5,000 through sponsorship and donations, which the Round Table distributes throughout the year based on applications from West Norfolk and Hunstanton people.
During the past year, the group has particularly supported Scotty’s Little Soldiers – the Lynn-based charity that raises money for treats and trips for the families of servicemen and women killed in action.
All funds raised should be handed to Round Table, which accepts nominations for how cash should be distributed.
