This was the scene in September, 1975, when young members of the Holcombe Buskers children’s concert party arrived at Lynn Town Hall clutching handfuls of £5 notes.
It was money they had collected for the Mayor’s Distress Fund. Four-year-old Susan Odendeal presented the money, which amounted to nearly £40, to the Mayor, Mr F W Juniper, watched by her young friends and by Mrs Betty Raby (second right) who ran the group. It was a busy day for the Mayor who then greeted a party of German students staying in the Lynn area to study the British way of life.
