Men appear in court on Downham murder charge

Two men have been remanded in custody on murder charges in connection with the death of a man in Downham at the weekend.

Wayne Peckham, 47, and Riley Peckham, 22, both of Manby Close, Hilgay, appeared before magistrates in Norwich this morning.

They are accused of murdering 39-year-old Matthew Rodwell in Downham on Sunday.

Riley Peckham also faces charges of escaping from lawful custody and assaulting an emergency worker. No pleas were indicated during the brief hearing.

Both defendants were remanded in custody to appear before Norwich Crown Court tomorrow.
