Met Office issues yellow weather warnings for Norfolk as Storm Henk batters East of England

A spell of very windy weather could cause some travel disruption in Norfolk today as Storm Henk batters the East of England.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert for wind, warning residents of the potential for some delays to transport and damage to trees, as well as the possibility of some short-term loss of power and other services.

The alert, which is in place from 8am to 9pm today, said that the high winds would likely be accompanied by heavy rain in places.

The Met Office has also issued a yellow weather alert for rain for the area, which began yesterday at 5pm and continues until 9pm today.

It warns that heavy rain falling on saturated ground is likely to cause some travel disruption.

It comes as the authority has issued a more serious amber alert for wind for other parts of Norfolk, including Diss, Thetford and Norwich, as well as Cambridge.
