Sculthorpe Mill retains the Michelin Bib Gourmand for the fourth year after opening in 2021
For the fourth year in a row, Sculthorpe Mill has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand for its high quality food and reasonable prices.
Surrounded by picturesque scenes and the best of Norfolk birds and wildlife, the mill was opened in 2021 by its owners Siobhan and Caitriona Peyton.
The former working mill has been transformed into a welcoming chic dining pub with a menu bursting with local produce, including six en-suite bedrooms.
The pub offers family suites, doubles and dog-friendly rooms that boast the tranquil views of the Mill’s gardens and river.
As well as its accommodation, there is an expanded pub area at the very heart of the Mill, two dining rooms, a private event suite and an al-fresco garden kitchen.
The menus, which are created by head chef Dominic Aslett, are seasonal and always sourced with local produce from land and sea. Its drink list includes local ciders, cask ales and craft beers as well as English wines.
The Michelin Guide said: “Dating all the way back to 1757, this striking former mill looks like it’s been taken off of a Norfolk picture postcard.
“The cooking doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but instead offers well-judged, flavoursome dishes.”
Siobhan and Caitriona have hospitality in their blood. The two sisters, along with their brother Oliver Peyton - a food critic and judge on The Great British Menu - have been behind some of the UK’s most innovative restaurants, including Atlantic Bar and Grill, Mash micro-breweries and most recently Peyton and Byrne British bakeries.
Siobhan said: “We are beyond thrilled to have retained our Michelin Bib Gourmand for a fourth year, we are proud to be able to offer a fantastic dining experience at a competitive price.”
