West Norfolk mayor Barry Ayres presented a cheque for £3,333 to Friends in Bereavement at the Mintlyn Crematorium, near Lynn, on Tuesday.

Twice a year, crematorium staff choose a local bereavement charity to receive support from a charity scheme run by the Institue of Cemetery and Crematorium Management, of which the site is a member.

Group secretary Gillian Porter, left, who accepted the cheque, said the donation would enable volunteers to help even more families in the borough.

Also pictured are, from left, cemetery and crematorium manager Dave Clayton, Friends in Bereavement committee member June Gardener and assistant cemetery and crematorium manager Bev Mitchell.
