Bomb disposal experts have been called to Lynn today after an unexploded device was found near the town’s main sports centre.
Greenpark Avenue, one of the main approaches to the Lynnsport complex, was closed at around 10.45am today after the item was discovered.
However, the centre remained open as usual, with access via Beulah Street and River Lane.
In a post on its Twitter feed, West Norfolk Council said the device was similar to the mortars discovered during building work at Lynn’s town hall last month.
The road was reopened just after noon.
