North West Norfolk MP enjoys lunch with children during primary school visits

Primary school children in Norfolk enjoyed a lunch with their West Norfolk MP as part of his visits to two local academies.

North West Norfolk MP James Wild visited Tilney All Saints and Anthony Curton primary schools on Wednesday, October 13, to meet with pupils and teachers.

The Conservative MP learned more about what the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust (DEMAT) schoolchildren had been studying so far this autumn term and even joined in a game of basketball with pupils on the playground.

Executive headteacher Dawn Liddle said: “It was great to have James visit the schools and learn more about all the wonderful things our children are doing.

“Our pupils loved the opportunity to show James around the schools and to introduce him to everything they have been learning about so far this term.

“We hope he enjoyed his time with us and we look forward to welcoming him again soon.”

As well as joining in a game of basketball, Mr Wild also had a chance to meet the school rabbits, Flopsy and Mopsy.

Mr Wild said he enjoyed chatting with the pupils about their schooling and sitting in on their lessons for the day.

He said: “I was pleased to have the opportunity to visit these two schools which work closely in partnership to deliver good education in North West Norfolk.

“There was a friendly atmosphere with pupils enjoying their lessons and play, and teachers focused on helping all the children to thrive.”

Children at the schools are set to mark harvest festival with a live-streamed event later this month, while owls swooped into Tilney for a special day on Friday, October 15.
