MP presents award to Downham Market restaurant
A restaurant in Downham has received a "highly commended" award in a national competition.
The Downham Tandoori, on High Street, was presented with the prize from the Festival of Curry at the House of Commons, Tiffin Cup, by Liz Truss, MP for South West Norfolk last Friday.
The Tiffin Cup looks to find the best South Asian restaurant in the UK, and the business reached the finals.
Mrs Truss said: "The Downham Tandoori not only serves some of the finest Indian cuisine, but its owners and staff are active members of the local community.
"It has raised thousands of pounds for charity during the past few years and customers travel many miles to enjoy the fine food and warm welcome that the Downham Tandoori has become recognised for."
