Musical double act in Denver raises money for The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House
A musical double act has raised money for The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House in Hillington with a summer charity event.
The Cats Music, Sara and Justin Catlett, are a husband and wife duo who performed at Blackstone Engine Bar at Denver Mill and managed to raise £178.12 over the evening.
The night consisted of a cheque presentation and live music from the pair, with audience members choosing from a range of tunes in exchange for a donation.
Mrs Catlett said: “Doing the event this way makes the audience feel included, plus the songs are their choice”
The musical duo were supported by The Downham Bunch, with Peter Holiday, Steve Hibbett and Clive Bond as its members.
Gilly and David Galloway, from the hospice, gave a talk about the work that the organisation does and how the money goes to help those who need it.
Sara and Justin Catlett have been raising money for the hospice with many events, and have totalled £3,302.74 since they began.
They had chosen Tapping House as their charity because it is something very close to their hearts, with stories often being told by audience members during concerts about losing loved ones.
The couple plan to keep raising money in the future, with their next event at Blackstone Engine Bar being on Saturday, September 30.
Mrs Catlett said: “We are especially looking forward to playing at the Sandringham Women’s Institute next Spring, in the hope that we sing for Queen Camilla.”
