Nearly 1,000 homes were left without power on Wednesday after an electrical cable fault.

A spokesperson for the network operator said: “UK Power Networks engineers were called to Swaffham, Little Massingham and Fakenham at about 5:20pm on December 27 after an overhead cable fault was reported.

“Power supplies to 972 customers were interrupted, and were restored to 767 of those by about 8.05pm. The remaining customers had supplies returned to normal by 11:15pm.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Customer care staff also helped keep people updated.”
