No.Thirty3 The Bakery to open in Burnham Market

An artisan bakery offering everything from home-baked traditional breads to speciality desserts is about to open in Burnham Market.

No.Thirty3 The Bakery is a new enterprise by Tim Roberts, owner of the No.Twenty9 Bar and Restaurant next door. It is located in the Market Place in premises formerly occupied by Abbotts estate agents.

The doors to No.Thirty3 are set to open for the first time on Monday, March 30, and will be open for business initially five days a week, from 8am, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. From Easter, it will be open seven days a week.

Upstairs, what is described as the 'poshest doggy boutique' in Norfolk, Eric and Dolly's will be run by Tim's partner, Katja Schell, which will sell everything from accessories to treats such as doggy muffins. The business is named after their own dogs.

Rachael Parke, who is front of house manager, and whose husband, Jeremy, is executive head chef for both No.Twenty9 and No.Thirty3, told the Lynn News: "The feedback we have had from customers is that they are missing a bakery in Burnham Market.

"There used to be one on the other side of the market place. We already have other good businesses, such as a fishmonger, but there is a need for a bakery."

It will offer a broad range of breads, including traditional white loaves and various flavoured breads and focaccia. "The chefs will be baking from 2am and we will be producing enough bread that we anticipate will be enough for that day. Once it's gone it's gone," said Rachael.

Savouries, such as sausage rolls and cheese straws, will be available too.

"There will also be lots of different cakes and pastries and we are producing pudding pots to take away which have been inspired by the Magnolia Bakery in New York. These will consist of pots filled with a New York style cake pudding base and then topped with all kinds of flavours," she said.

"These will be according to what's in season, for example in the summer there will be strawberries and fresh meringue. We are also producing our own home-made gelato ice cream with a variety of flavours or, if people prefer, we will have a whipped ice cream machine too.

"Hot chocolate will be another of our specialities which people can add toppings to, such as cake and millionaires shortbread.

"We have a window in the bakery from where we will sell the desserts so people will be able to take them away and enjoy during the warm evenings as they walk around Burnham. And with Eric and Dolly's upstairs, they will be able to pick up a treat for their pets too."

The doggy boutique, complete with chandelier, will provide high end products, some of which are quite unusual, such as a doggy perfume called Virginia Woof.
