New boat will double King's Lynn Sea Cadets capacity
A charitable club in Lynn has presented a new rowing boat to a Sea Cadets group in the town, which will mean more members of the group have the opportunity to get on the water.
The Rotary Club of King’s Lynn handed over The Spirit of Rotary and its trailer to the Sea Cadets opposite their headquarters, TS Vancouver.
The new boat will accommodate eight cadets, which will double the present number of youngsters who can get on the water.
Historian and Rotarian Dr Paul Richards, who has maintained a close relationship with TS Vancouver, had told the club of the cadets’ situation, prompting them to purchase a new rowing boat for the group.
The Spirit of Rotary and its trailer were officially handed over to TS Vancouver on the quayside on Monday, April 15, by Rotary Club president Pip Rippengill and received on behalf of the Sea Cadets by their president Paul Bland.
