NEW Cast member for The King's Lynn Players 'Into the Woods'

The King’s Lynn Players’ latest production, Into the Woods, sponsored by the Lynn News, has a new addition to the cast in the form of a specially-made cow puppet.

Milky White the Cow is Jack’s beloved cow who is as white as milk.

She shares an important role in the show as she is one of the four objects needed to break the Witch’s curse.

Director Ross Woodhouse said: “The show starts with the immortal line ‘Once upon a time’.

“We follow Cinderella, Jack (and the beanstalk) and the Baker with his wife throughout their journey that was recently made into a Disney movie with Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick and James Corden.”

Cow puppeteer William Coase added: “The Cow plays an integral part in the show and it was so important to practise with the cow for as long as possible to make her believable. It’s been a challenge but I’ve loved it!”

With the book written by James Lapine and music by renowned composer Stephen Sondheim, best known for West Side Story, Gypsy and Sweeney Todd, this musical is not to be missed. It is being staged at The King’s Lynn Arts Centre from Wednesday, November 15, to Saturday, November 18, with performances nightly at 7.30pm; and also a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets are £15 each and are available online www.kingslynncornexchange.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01553 764864.
