King’s Lynn Priory Rotary Club welcomes new president
A new president for a Rotary club has been installed at a ceremony in front of members, partners and guests.
Paul Batterham has taken over the reins at the Priory Rotary Club in Lynn.
The handover ceremony took place last Wednesday at Heacham Manor attended by some 50 people.
Jonathan Holme, outgoing president Jonathan Holmes, said: “It has been another busy but enjoyable year, when we’ve combined great fellowship with doing a lot of good.
“One way or another we’ve been able to raise over £35,000 for the benefit of over 40 charities, and also focussed on youth and environmental projects.
“I am very proud of these achievements, but they could not have happened without the incredible support you have all given to me and our committee chairs.”
Mr Batterham set out his priorities as increasing social activities for members and partners and recruiting new members so that the club can continue the good work it does Internationally and for the community.
The evening’s entertainment included a ditty from the club’s choir, a sketch, based on comedians the Two Ronnies, about the organisation’s hierarchy, and dancing to music performed by Rowena Senido.
