Enthusiastic welcome for Fitness Space in Downham Market
A new fitness centre which opened in Downham this month has met with enthusiasm from users impressed with its facilities, staff and technology.
Businessman Andrew Sell opened a new Fitness Space franchise at 6 Church Road, thanks to a £80,000 business loan from HSBC.
The funding has enabled Andrew to completely transform 2,750 sq ft of leased commercial space, into a fully-equipped fitness club, bringing four new jobs to the local community.
Comments by customers on Facebook include Jane Flint, who said: "I’ve been going since this gym opened and I love it.
"Not since living in Cambridge 16 years ago have I been to a gym that is so well equipped and friendly."
And Rachel Blount said: "I have been to gyms in the UK and the USA. Fitness Space in Downham is fantastic. The technology is like nothing I've seen, so therefore gives you a personalised training programme."
Fitness Space is a boutique-style gym franchise with many of its clubs in the South East and Greater London.
The new Downham club has been fitted with specialist equipment and software, including Technogym and Escape Technology. The smart equipment provides real-time data by synchronising with members’ smartphones, allowing them to track their progress as they workout.
Andrew Sell, said: “I’m truly excited to be opening a Fitness Space studio, a first-of-its-kind for Downham. The support provided to me by HSBC relationship manager, Ray Minns, was fantastic and I can now start to look forward and develop the business.”
Sarah Black, HSBC’s area director for Norfolk, said: “The fitness industry is one of the fastest growing sectors around, so we were delighted to support Andrew with his new franchise which created local jobs.”
It is the second Fitness Space open in the East of England, with the other studio based in Norwich. Andrew hopes to provide his members with genuine expertise, fitness goals and an environment which is truly immersive.
