Campaigners behind plans to build a new swimming pool in Swaffham have launched a crowdfunding initiative to help fund the project.
Earlier this year, two residents unveiled their vision for a heated, outdoor pool in the town, which they estimate would cost around £1.5 million to build.
They say the idea is more realistic than building an indoor pool, which could cost four times as much.
Now, an appeal has been set up via the Gofundme website to raise funds towards the project.
Carolyn Watts and Helen Manson, who began the new campaign in January, say they are also preparing to commission a feasibility study.
They are also seeking to register the appeal as a charity.
The appeal page says: “The dream of a pool in the town has existed for decades.
“We are a group of local residents who would like to make that dream a reality, but with the bonus of creating a unique, beautiful, facility built along environmentally friendly lines that will provide swimming for locals as well as drawing people from further afield to the town.”
The campaign also has access to around £14,000 which was raised through the efforts of the former Swaffham Swimming Pool Association (SPA).
