Litcham Health Centre will take over provision of GP medical services at The Hollies Surgery in Downham Market

From April, Litcham Health Centre will take over the provision of GP medical services at The Hollies Surgery in Downham.

The NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) has made the announcement, confirming that the changes are part of a “seamless transition” when the current contract comes to an end on March 31.

An ICB statement said: “Throughout this process, we have remained committed to keeping the surgery open and maintaining continuity of care for patients.

“Following careful consideration, Litcham Health Centre has been confirmed as the new provider from April 2025. During 2025/26, a full procurement process will be undertaken to establish long-term arrangements from April 2026 onwards.”

Vida Healthcare will continue delivering services until March 31 and will work alongside Litcham Health Centre and system partners to ensure a smooth handover.

“While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, some operational changes may be required during the mobilisation period,” the statement added.

“We understand that changes in service provision can be unsettling for both patients and staff. Norfolk and Waveney ICB is committed to open, transparent communication throughout this transition and will continue to engage with everyone affected.

“Patients will be kept updated on the progress of this transition, and further information will be shared as it becomes available.

“We appreciate the community’s patience and support as we work to secure the long-term future of The Hollies Surgery.”
