New King's Lynn sportive 'Pedal Lynn' a ‘celebration’ of cycling

West Norfolk's "biggest celebration of cycling" is promised at this weekend's inaugural Pedal Lynn event.

The sportive, which will start at the Tuesday Market Place on Sunday morning, is a series of rides aimed at all ages and abilities.

All profits from the event, which has seen bike shop and events organiser Pedal Revolution team up with King's Lynn Cycling Club and West Norfolk Council, will go to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Each route, ranging from the family hour ride to the 100-mile route, will be signposted with drinks and food stops along the way.

Pedal Revolution events manager Helen Rainbow said: "All too often we don't appreciate what is right on our doorstep but riding around Lynn and our surrounding countryside is amazing, it's relatively quiet and so easily accessible."

In addition to the rides, the Tuesday Market Place will host a number of activities throughout the day, including coaching sessions and a life-sized Scalextric-like mountain bike track which will be free to ride for those over 8 all day.

Anyone interested in taking part can drop in to the event HQ marquee on the day to book their ride, go to www.pedalrevolution.co.uk/events or visit the Pedal Revolution shop on Edward Benefer Way in Lynn.
