The new president of Swaffham’s Rotary club has urged members to spread the word about the organisation after taking up the chains of office.

Denis Bishop succeeded Jane Harding in the role at the group’s meeting at the town’s golf club last Monday, which was attended by more than 50 members.

Mr Bishop asked for members’ support in all the club’s fundraising and community activities in the coming year.

He said: “Let’s all enjoy Rotary next year. Let everyone know what a great organisation we belong to and encourage more to join us.”

Other officers elected at the meeting were president-elect David Morris, vice-president and treasurer Bill Muir and secretary Claire Dunne.

The club meets each Monday at the George Hotel. Anyone interested in joining should contact Claire Dunne on 01760 722504.
