New library for Walpole Highway School
A library project, initiated two years ago, has finally come to fruition.
The ribbon was cut last Friday to mark the official opening of the new library at Walpole Highway School.
Chair of the governors Malcolm Clements, West Norfolk Mayor Margaret Wilkinson and teaching assistant Helen Haestier declared the facility open in front of councillors and supporters of the school.
Mr Clements spoke about the project and thanked all those involved in it and those who had donated towards it.
He said: “We have managed to get this wonderful additional building through some hard work, dedication and some very generous donations from the borough council, Walpole Highway Parish Council, one of our families here at Walpole trading as Emerald Homes and a contribution from the Friends of Walpole Highway School.”
He said there had been some “major hiccups” on the way and one of the biggest was the siting.
