Heacham Lidl store about to open doors for business

Lidl UK will be opening its doors to customers at its brand new store in Heacham on Thursday, just ahead of the spring bank holiday weekend.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8am, customers will be able to sample Lidl products throughout the day and check out exclusive deals and offers set to run during the first week of opening.

The new store beside the A149 is part of Lidl's ongoing UK expansion plans and has created 40 new jobs.

The 1,424m² sales area includes an in-store bakery, longer-style tills with dual packing, customer toilets, baby changing and parking for both cars and bicycles.

Lidl UK’s regional head of property, Colin Rimmer, said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Heacham. It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community.”

Lidl UK has experienced continued growth over the years. Its products – of which more than two thirds are British sourced - range from quality fruit and vegetables, to premium wines from its Wine Tour collections.

According to the latest Kantar Worldpanel results, Lidl has been named as the fastest growing bricks and mortar supermarket in the UK with 9.1% increase in sales year on year and market share of 5.4%.

Special offers available to customers during the first week include reduced prices on multi-purpose ladders from Thursday, mattresses from Friday and espresso machines from Saturday May 26.
