A fundraiser for new Christmas lights in Swaffham has raised more than £3,000 for the festive ornaments, which will be installed in November.
On Friday, August 5, the town’s Conservative Club played host to a buffet, live music, an auction and a raffle were organised by Swaffham Trade Association to raise money for the new decorations.
Buffet food was provided by local businesses and the Parisian Swing Band from Ely helped get the evening under way.
Donations for the auction ranged from a dinner for two with a chauffeur-driven Bentley, to hampers, sculptures and flying lessons.
Swaffham Trade Association Chairman Colin Mason said: “A special thank you goes to all of those who donated items for the auction.”
Mr Mason added that as the evening was such a success, two further fundraising events are in the pipeline.
On Friday, October 14 at The Station in Swaffham, and Friday, December 2 at Stanley’s in the town, two more functions will be held in aid of the festive lights.
Mr Mason said: “If you want to join us for a great time, good food and good company, get your tickets now, as all proceeds go to the Swaffham Christmas lights to brighten up the town and bring smiles to the faces of the community.”
Tickets for both events are available from Arts Lounge Gallery, the Red Lion pub, and Norfolk House and Home.
