Mini owners are being invited to take part in a new event that will take place in Lynn this summer.

The Mini Meet is the latest in a series of public events organised by West Norfolk Council in a bid to bring more visitors into the town.

The inaugural meet is due to take place in the Tuesday Market Place on Sunday, August 27, between 10am and 3pm.

And owners of the iconic car are being encouraged to sign up now if they want to take part.

Council leader Brian Long said: “This event builds on the success of our classic car show, which has become a real feature of our events programme.

“The Mini holds a special place in British pop culture; from starring in The Italian Job in the Swinging Sixties to its reinvention as a modern classic today.

“Any model, any size, old or new: all Minis are welcome at the Mini Meet.

“If you own a Mini, come and show it off. We’ll be awarding prizes for the judges’ choice and the people’s favourite.”

A maximum of 220 cars can be displayed during the event, which will also feature live music, entertainment and trade stalls.
