Terrington St Clement Community School spruce up area in front of school with new planters
Pupils, volunteers and family members have joined together to fill three planters in a bid to create a new natural display outside of their school.
The planting session took place at Terrington St Clement Community School on Monday, July 31.
Volunteers, pupils and their relatives arrived with spades and trowels to dig, plant and weed.
The school had received donations of plants, bark and compost to fill their planters from Moat Road Nursery in Hay Green.
Kat Whitmore, volunteer and chair of the ‘Friends of the School Association’ (FOSA), said pupils would be excited to see the finished planters on their return in September.
They also highlighted the efforts of the “fantastic pupils & their relatives who turned up to help” and the “fabulous plants” donated by Moat Road Nursery.
The Friends hope that the completed planters will benefit the whole of the local community, as walkers on the nearby footpath will be able to admire them.
There are plans to fill a fourth planter later in the school holidays.
Instead of plants, it will be filled with painted pebbles, decorated by pupils, based on the theme of ‘anti-bullying and friendship.’
