The Sugar Shack opens in Wootton Road, Gaywood, selling a range of desserts
A new desserts outlet in Gaywood, The Sugar Shack, has been enjoying the taste of sweet success since its first day of opening.
Its selection of waffles, doughnuts, ice cream and candy floss are drawing in plenty of customers to the Wootton Road premises, says proprietor Stuart Daley.
Stuart runs the Norfolk Phone Repairs just down the road and his partner Joanne Clarke is managing The Sugar Shack.
Said Stuart: "We have been extremely busy since the day we opened. We are in a really good location here. There's plenty of footfall and Gaywood has not got anything like this already. I am really confident it will do well."
Undefeated by lockdown when he had to close his phone shop temporarily, he turned his thoughts to The Sugar Shack when the premises became available.
"We had a Sugar Shack trailer which we were towing about to various venues, but then everything stopped. When the shop came up, I decided to start work on the new business," said Stuart.
Candy floss is proving to be a big hit with customers so far, said Stuart. "There are 12 different flavours and we make up the candy floss while people wait. The most popular flavours are cola, water melon, raspberry and strawberry."
Thai rolled ice cream is made on a freeze plate is another favourite which is served in a tub with five rolls.
Mini doughnuts are served with hot sauces, such as chocolate, and can be bought as a platter of 20. In addition to the bubble waffles, which have a wide selection of toppings, there are also waffle lollies which can be coated with items such as caramel and Smartie-style sweets.
Also available are slushies, milk shakes and Mr Whippy ice cream.
The Sugar Shack is open seven days a week from 11am to 9pm.
