Revised proposals for a solar farm on the edge of Snettisham will be debated by councillors next week, even though a larger scheme is the subject of an appeal.
Developers are seeking to install more than 8,000 solar panels on a 4.5 hectare site on Bircham Road.
A larger scheme, covering six hectares, was rejected by the West Norfolk Council planning committee in April, because of concerns over the impact on the landscape and the Grade 1 Listed parish church.
Developers Solar Associates have lodged an appeal against that decision, which borough planning officers say is likely to take several months to resolve.
But they say the latest proposal, which will be debated by the authority’s planning committee on Monday, should be approved as its benefits outweigh the perceived harm caused.
The application has also been supported by parish councillors, subject to construction traffic travelling to the site from Bircham.
