Grove Veterinary Hospital in Fakenham welcomes new orthopaedic surgeon in Dr Diana Gander Soares
A veterinary practice has welcomed a new surgeon with a “deep passion” for helping pet mobility.
Dr Diana Gander Soares will be joining the orthopaedic team at Grove Veterinary Hospital in Fakenham.
It is said that her “advanced expertise” in small animal surgery will help to provide a range of services to pets in the area for bone, ligament and joint problems - as well as chronic conditions.
“Orthopaedics fascinates me with its intricacy and the profound impact it has on restoring movement,” Dr Soares said.
“Helping animals regain mobility is incredibly rewarding - it’s central to their quality of life.”
Originally from Lisbon in Portugal, the surgeon graduated in 2015 and began her journey into orthopaedics during a placement at Zurich Vet School in Switzerland.
Since then, she has worked in emergency and general practices and completed veterinary internships at leading referral hospitals, with Grove saying she has a “deep passion” for her speciality.
Dr Gander Soares is also currently undertaking a residency in small animal surgery at the Royal Veterinary College.
In her new venture at Grove, she will join a team supported by 40 nurses and led by head of orthopaedics James Tattersall.
She will also work with Simon Gilbert and Richard Whitlock, who continue to contribute their expertise part-time following retirement.
