New coffee shop and cocktail venue in Snettisham
A new coffee shop and cocktail venue has opened in Snettisham.
Located on Pedlars Mews, The Old Store is a family business managed by the owners of The Old Bank restaurant nearby.
Open Wednesday to Sunday from 8am, the venue, which is a micro-bakery, has comforting decor with hues of mustard and grey and low lighting, plus local photography and home-made jars of pickles to decorate the walls and shelving.
Managers Ania Wadolwska and Stefanos Boukas run the business with family members Lewis and Aga King.
Chris Mann is in charge of the team of 12, having previously worked as the head chef at Titchwell Manor for 12 years. He made the jump to find more of a work-life balance.
Ania said: "We opened last Saturday with a soft opening but have been operating for four weeks already.
"We are a coffee shop during the day with a cocktail bar in the evening.
"I ran a similar business in Cambridge and we wanted something like this nearer.
"Snettisham is such a lovely village and this will bring the community together. "
The coffee shop serves a large selection of beverages including lattes, hot chocolate, fresh orange and smoothies.
The day time menu serves a variety of breakfast from poached eggs and smashed avacado on toast to porridge and pancakes.
All the bread, cakes and pastries are made in-house and the evening menu has a selection from charcuterie to cheese and seafood.
Ania said: "It is a quieter place and more mellow, to enjoy a conversation, with jazz in the background and cocktails and nibbles in the evenings.
"No children are allowed in the evenings where the adults along with the staff can enjoy the atmosphere."
