New way to explore King's Lynn unique heritage

Some curious shapes appearing on the pavements will have stirred visitor's curiosity in King's Lynn over the weekend which were the part of a theatrical experience.

The words 'Rider Spoke' were spray painted on to areas of the streets in Lynn town centre.

Presented by Norfolk and Norwich Festival as part of Norfolk Wonder, Blast Theory’s Rider Spoke came to the town this autumn.

Rider Spoke invited visitors on a ride in search of the perfect place to hide a secret, to cycle with no particular destination, offering a rare freedom.

Starting at Custom House, opposite GroundWork Gallery in Lynn, riders were provided with a smartphone and mount to place onto their handlebars and could either bring a bike or borrow one to begin the ride.

Guided by a narrator and a delicate score by Blanket, participants could explore the area by bike for an hour while thinking about the people in their lives whilst riding.

The experience was also available for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, alternative cycles or on foot.
