New appointed president of King's Lynn club also seeking new members

The handover of the president of the Probus Club of King’s Lynn from Ivan Jordan to Don Poole took place at a lunch at the Knights Hill Hotel last month.

Probus is looking for new members and are appealing to those who are retired or about to retire from work, perhaps concerned about missing that daily contact with work colleagues to consider joining.

Probus stands for professional and businessmen, and the Lynn club was founded in 1978 for the purpose of providing the friendship enjoyed at members’ former workplaces.

The group meet every Wednesday morning at the Swan public house, South Wootton, for coffee and biscuits, except the third Wednesday in the month when they meet at the Knights Hill Hotel for lunch, with a speaker from a local business or organisation.

They hold an annual president’s lunch, a Christmas lunch and a strawberry tea, which are also attended by ladies.

Trips are arranged to various sights and events throughout the year. The joining fee is £15 and the annual subscription £10.
