Police appeal after village post box is stolen

Witnesses are being sought after a post box was stolen from a West Norfolk village last night.

The theft of the box, which was at the junction of Bullock Road and Hay Green Road South, Terrington St Clement, is thought to have happened between 9 and 9.30pm on Tuesday.

A stump now remains of the post on which the box had stood.

Norfolk Police said the theft was reported to them at around 12.30pm today and inquiries are continuing.

One resident said she had heard a "grinding" noise at around the time when the box is thought to have been removed.
