No King's Lynn trains due to heatwave

More news, no ads

There are no trains running on the Lynn to Cambridge line this morning.

This is due to overhead power cable damage caused by yesterday's high temperatures, train operators Great Northern said.

The company said: "There will also be no service between Cambridge and King’s Lynn until at least 9am."

A spokesperson for Great Northern said: “The extreme temperatures experienced on Monday and Tuesday will continue to impact our services on Wednesday morning while Network Rail completes repairs and safety checks. This means that for many they will not be able to travel until late morning at the earliest.

“We’re really sorry for the difficulties this will cause but the safety of our passengers must come first.

“Please do check before you travel at nationalrail.co.uk or on our websites where anyone delayed as a result of the disruption can also claim Delay Repay compensation.”
