‘No updates’ as to when fire-stricken Warehouse Taproom Bar and Restaurant will reopen

A popular bar and restaurant - which was victim to a kitchen fire last year - has confirmed there are still “no updates” as to when it will reopen.

The Warehouse Taproom Bar and Restaurant in Setchey suffered a blaze in October, which spread from the kitchen into the bar and dining area.

The premises, on Garage Lane, has been closed ever since, but its antiques centre and beer shop have remained open, and were not damaged by the fire.

Posting on social media, a spokesperson from The Warehouse said: “Sadly, no further updates as yet.

“We still plan to reopen, but everything is with our insurance company, so we literally have no idea when that will be. We know it’s frustrating.

“We're getting lots of messages asking about re-opening, please rest assured we'll be shouting it everywhere just as soon as we know.

“We miss you all and can't wait to welcome you back, whenever that may be.”

Meanwhile, the business has been hosting monthly farmers and craft markets, with the next one taking place over the weekend.
