Preparations are almost complete for this Saturday’s Norfolk Vs Suffolk Police Charity Football Tournament & Family Fun Day, being held at Ormiston Venture Academy in Gorleston.
Alongside the football there will be a range of attractions at the venue from 10am until 4pm, including bouncy castles, kids entertainers, face painting, fun rides, games and a raffle. There will also be displays from local groups including Lowestoft Dog Display Team, Ame Hai Martial Arts, Crystalette Twirlers and Aspire Dance.
The whole event aims to raise money for two good causes: Embrace & Child Victims of Crime and COPS (Care of Police Survivors).
Both charities aim to support children and young people in the region and money is being raised both through sponsorship of each of the five-a-side teams taking part and by all the activities on the day.
The fun day part of the afternoon is open to anyone who would like to come along, with admission completely free and just a small charge for some of the attractions such as the inflatables.
PC Tony Hogan said; “While police officers and staff battle it out on the football pitches, we’d like to invite residents and visitors along as you’ll also be able to enjoy a range of attractions, refreshments and help raise money for two good causes.
“The football tournament is open to the public and there are still places for teams to join.”
“Embrace and Child Victims of Crime and COPS both work to support young people in our communities so please come along and support our efforts.
“You’ll also be able to meet and talk to your local Safer Neighbourhood Team, who are both helping out on the day.”
Organisers would like to thank all those who have supported the event.
