“Protecting our communities through local, visible policing” - that’s the pledge from Norfolk’s Chief Constable as he outlines his commitment to local policing.

Paul Sanford said the force would be building on its strong foundations of protecting communities from harm with a renewed focus on local policing.

This renewed focus will see officers becoming more visible in their communities, finding out the issues which matter most and putting measures in place to address those concerns.

To support these policing priorities, and to boost the neighbourhood policing capacity, the Community Policing Team (CPT) has been formed under the Community Safety Command. The aim of the CPT is to support local policing teams with neighbourhood issues and problems that require increased visibility, increased community engagement and increased enforcement, by utilising the additional resources and specialist skills of the officers within the team.
