The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House will receive a £1,000 donation from Taylor Wimpey after it was selected as winner in the housebuilder’s community competition.

Taylor Wimpey’s month-long campaign invited residents across the county to put forward nominations for local groups, organisations or individuals in the area. The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House, located at Hillington, was crowned the winner after receiving the most votes.

The hospice helps more than 1,200 families each year. As demand for services continues to rise during the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospice plans to put the £1,000 donation towards maintaining the important work they do.

Lindsey Atkin, community and corporate fundraising manager at the hospice, said: “We are incredibly grateful to receive such a generous donation from Taylor Wimpey.

"We rely on voluntary donations as well as income from our lottery and charity shops to fund the care we deliver. With the recent enforced closure of our charity shops and cancelled events, this donation has never been more important.”

Caroling Carter, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, said: “In such difficult times, the care and support that The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House provides to patients and their families is invaluable. The dedication and commitment of their team is also utterly admirable.

“It means a great deal to us that we can help them and their cause, making a difference to the lives of people in our local communities.”
