North Wootton family are Fabulous at functions
A North Wootton family has launched a low-cost event management and function business which caters for the unique and quirky.
Baileys Fabulous Functions is the brainchild of Teresa Bailey, who is managing director, and her daughter Michaela who is company director.
Whether it is helping celebrate something wonderful or taking some of the burden following a sad event, the company is honoured to assist in making the event something perfect.
They cater for the unique and quirky, keep costs low and use local suppliers for the majority of their products.
Both Teresa and Michaela have a wealth of experience in managing events for a wide range of customers for more 20 years and regularly talked about starting their own business before finally taking the plunge.
Teresa explained: "With both of us working full-time, alongside voluntary work, it never seemed the right time.
"Luckily, I was made redundant after 28 years at CITB as a project manager, so there were no more excuses.
"I attended a course on setting up your own business, two weeks before lockdown and events became non- existent."
Teresa added: "During lockdown I attended another course which enabled me to create our own business website.
"It may not be hi-tech, but it saved us a considerable amount of money, passing on these savings to our customers.
"We also had time to document 1000+ items which we had accumulated, in time for the official launch on Friday, November 13, 2020.
"Come 2021 and with no end of restrictions in sight Michaela had a great idea; Baileys Home Delivered Functions, perfect for celebrating an event whilst in lockdown. This diversification turned out to be very well received.
"The pinnacle for us so far though was when a great couple chose us to provide props and assistance at their wedding. The feedback was amazing and plentiful."
Not only does the company offer excellent event management skills, they also offer function enhancements at reasonable prices.
Their most popular items include chair covers, nine foot high flower arch, a five-foot high light up stag, spun glass light up swan and several blossom trees.
Several items are from Michaela’s wedding and due to their ethos of being frugal, they were able to buy a beach hut with the savings.
