North Wootton market to return from next month
A monthly village market at North Wootton Village Hall will return on Saturday, May 15, affording people the opportunity to support local businesses once more.
On the third Saturday of every month, visitors can expect to find an array of local producers and makers selling meats, fresh artisan bread, Indian cuisine, jams and marmalades, honey, seasonal vegetables, candles and soaps and more.
The village hall’s events organiser, Antony Lamb, said “Lockdown has been challenging for the village hall but also those who sell at the village market and other local farmers’ markets.
“We hope that people will come back and support the local producers and see how we’ve made sure the village market operates in a Covid secure way.
“We have even made it possible to have a large tent outside the hall in order to keep numbers inside at a minimum”.
Entrance to the village market is free and there’s plenty of parking available at The Woottons Surgery and also on Priory Lane.
Saira Karim, of Coriander & Lime, who hold a stall, said “We have been coming to North Wootton village market since it began back in 2018.
“There is always a really nice atmosphere and a good variety of stalls and we can’t wait to get back and see some familiar faces safely.”
Every penny raised at the village market goes to North Wootton Village Hall, which is a registered charity, and used towards the upkeep and ongoing refurbishment of the hall.
The village market is open from 9am to 2pm and more information can be found on the Village Hall’s website:at: www.northwoottonvillagehall.org.uk/north-wootton-village-market as well as on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
