Now the hard work starts to find who is the best in the West
Judging is now just about to get under way to find the brightest and best of West Norfolk’s businesses and entrepreneurs.
Nominations for the Mayor’s Business Awards 2020, which are being organised by the Lynn News in partnership with West Norfolk Council, closed at 2pm on Friday.
But, if you haven’t yet submitted an entry for you, your colleague or your company, there is still time to make sure you’re in the running– though only if you’re quick.
A total of 10 awards will be up for grabs at the gala awards dinner, which is always one of the highlights of the civic year.
The ceremony will take place at Lynn’s Corn Exchange on Friday, March 6.
The categories, with their sponsors, are Mayor’s Business Award, sponsored by West Norfok Council, Small Business of the Year award, sponsored by Mapus-Smith Lemmon LLP; Businessperson of the Year, sponsored by Brown & Co; Customer Care Award, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz King’s Lynn; King’s Lynn Champion, sponsored by Discover King’s Lynn; Business Innovation, sponsored by MCP Solicitors; Apprentice/Trainee of the Year, sponsored by Carter Accommodation; Independent Retailer; Leisure and Tourism and Employee of the Year, sponsored by MARS.
The Mayor’sBusiness Awards is run by the Lynn News in partnership with the West Norfolk Council.
The awards were started more than 30 years ago by Les Daubney as a way of highlighting the brilliant innovation and hard work being displayed by commercial operators throughout the borough.
Lynn News editor Mark Leslie said: “For all those picked as outstanding enough to be shortlisted it really is a marvellous night. you won’t regret it.”
Nominations closed at 2pm on Friday, with entry packs for those whose nominations have already been submitted due back this week.
The judging process will begin next week with all the entries being whittled down to three finalists in each of the award categories.
The finalists will then be announced in the Lynn News on Friday, December 20, when we’ll also be letting you know how you can buy your tickets for the big night.
